Marzamemi

Marzamemi is an ancient and charming fishing village that has become an essential tourist destination. The fishing port of Marzamemi takes its name from the Arabic Marsà al-hamam, which means "dove bay," a clear allusion to the birds that rest in the region during migration.

The heart of Marzamemi is Piazza Regina Margherita, a few steps from the sea, where the Tonnara is an inseparable part of local memory and economy. The town center is small, but in the summer months, it fills with tourists attracted to its restaurants where they can taste fresh fish and its port where colorful boats decorate the waters of the bay.
