Riserva Di Vendicari & Cavagrande del Cassibile

  • Riserva di Vendicari: The Faunal Oasis of Vendicari is a natural paradise for sea and trekking enthusiasts. The Vendicari Natural Reserve is a protected natural area located between Noto and Marzamemi, particularly important for the presence of ponds that serve as stopovers for migrating birds.

Be sure not to miss the Tonnara while visiting. An entire ecosystem thrives undisturbed within the reserve. You will frequently come across breathtaking landscapes, dense vegetation that suddenly opens up to a crystal-clear sea, and long, golden beaches that become cliffs overlooking deep waters in just a few hundred meters. Furthermore, due to its location in the southernmost part of Sicily, it is a passage point for several bird species during migration and a stopping point for others. It is, therefore, the ideal place for birdwatching enthusiasts but also a paradise for snorkeling enthusiasts. The clear waters of the reserve's beaches are rich in a variety of fish and aquatic plants. After years of absence, the Caretta caretta turtles have returned to nest on these beaches.

  • Cavagrande del Cassibile: Located in one of the most pristine nature reserves in Sicily, this canyon, protected by lush vegetation, invites you to take a dip in its crystal-clear rock pools. The trekking excursion can last about 5 hours and is highly recommended. In the valley bottom, a system of small waterfalls and ponds has formed (locally called "uruvi"), which can be accessed through an ancient staircase known as "La Scala Cruci."
